Bobcats Pick up Road Win at Jamestown
JAMESTOWN, NY - The Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo women's basketball team earned an impressive road victory on Tuesday night, defeating Jamestown 71–61 behind standout efforts from sophomore forward Chelsea Johnson and senior center Kortnee Smith.
Johnson was electric from the opening tip, pouring in a game-high 28 points on an ultra-efficient 13-of-16 shooting, while adding six rebounds and two assists. Smith delivered one of the most dominant interior performances in program history, finishing with 16 points and 19 rebounds, including nine offensive boards, to control the paint on both ends.
The Bobcats set the tone early with relentless rebounding and strong ball movement, posting 44 total rebounds and 17 assists as a team. Despite Jamestown's attempts to rally behind guard Ashlynn Delcamp (15 points) and Tru Billie (13 points), Bryant & Stratton held firm defensively, forcing 20 turnovers and limiting the hosts to just 34.8% shooting from the floor.
Freshman guard Zyaire Hartfield added a critical all-around performance, contributing 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and a pair of three-pointers while playing a team-high 38 minutes. Iyanna King and Jaelyn Giles combined for eight assists and seven rebounds from the backcourt, helping stabilize the offense throughout the night.
Sophomore point guard Jordyn Cooper-Best guided the attack with a game-high 7 assists, adding two steals on the defensive end.
Bryant & Stratton's defensive intensity proved decisive in the fourth quarter, where the Bobcats created separation with multiple stops and second-chance buckets generated by Smith and Johnson. Buffalo finished the night shooting 43.9% from the field and an efficient 11-of-13 (84.6%) from the free-throw line.
