Johnson Scores 23 in Dominant 77-43 Win Over Villa Maria
BUFFALO, NY - Senior Alissa Johnson scored a game high 23 points and the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats enjoyed a massive rebounding margin (53-36) en route to a dominant 77-43 road victory over Villa Maria on Wednesday night.
BUFFALO, NY - Senior Alissa Johnson scored a game high 23 points and the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats enjoyed a massive rebounding margin (53-36) en route to a dominant 77-43 road victory over Villa Maria on Wednesday night.
The Bobcats (5-2, 2-0) had four players in double-figures and were led by Johnson who was 9-15 from the floor. The first quarter was tight, with the Bobcats edging out the Vikings 13-10. The second have was all Buffalo as they raced out to a 13-point halftime lead.
B&SC Buffalo was even more dominant in the second half, outscoring Villa 23-12 in the third quarter and 23-13 in the final quarter. Both Mary Caldwell and Nia Caver each scored 12 and Tamia Tart had 10, all off the bench for Buffalo. Caldwell also added six steals, four rebounds and four assists. Caver added seven rebounds, five steals and three assists. Tart and Caldwell each hit two triples.
The Bobcats held the Vikings to 31.6 percent from the floor and forced 31 turnovers, which led directly to 31 points. The biggest discrepancy in the game came in bench points. The Bobcats got 44 points from their bench, compared to just two from that of the Vikings.
THE SERIES
This was the fourth all-time meeting between the Bobcats and Vikings and the first this season. The Bobcats lead the series 3-1.
UP NEXT
The Bobcats' next scheduled game against Bryant & Stratton Rochester on Feb. 9 has been postponed. B&SC Buffalo will next take the floor on Friday, Feb. 12 at Bryant & Stratton Syracuse.
