PITTSBURGH, PA - Mary Caldwell scored a team-high 19 points but the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats could not overcome a slow start, falling 76-54 to the Point Park Pioneers on Tuesday evening inside the Point Park Student Activities Center.
The Pioneers dominated the first 10 minutes, holding the Bobcats to just two points and scoring 21. That 19-point hole was just too much to overcome as the Bobcats fell to 4-2 on the season. Caldwell scored 18 of her 19 in the second half.
After the slow start, Buffalo regrouped and scored 17 in the second quarter but still trailed 39-19 at the break. After composing themselves at halftime, the Bobcats won the third quarter 19-11 and trailed by 12 entering the fourth, but the deficit was just too large.
Point Park dominated the boards, edging Buffalo 54-43. Of those 54 rebounds, 21 came on the offensive glass. Senior Alissa Johnson was the only other Bobcat in double-figures as she finished with 13 points. Newcomer Oumy Gueye had a team-high eight rebounds off the bench. Juniors Tamia Tart and Armoni Jordan scored nine and seven points respectively.

This was the fourth all-time meeting between the Bobcats and Pioneers with the series now tied at 2-2. The Bobcats won an earlier season matchup in Buffalo, 92-83 back on November 8th.
