Balanced Effort Gets Bobcats Back in Win Column

BUFFALO, NY - A fast start and balanced scoring attack helped the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats get back in the win column, defeating the Clarkson Golden Knights 83-67 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats got a team-high 16 from reining Female Athlete of the Year Alissa Johnson, as a huge first quarter propelled them to their second road win of the season.  B&SC Buffalo outscored the Golden Knights 24-6 over the opening 10 minutes and never looked back, improving to 4-1 on the season.

B&SC Buffalo shot nearly 50 percent from the floor as four players scored in double-figures.  Juniors Armoni Jordan and Charm Stone each added 11, while Mary Caldwell scored 10 off the bench.  As a team, the Bobcats shot 9-16 (56.3%) from beyond the arc.  Caldwell went 3-4, while Johnson and junior Tamia Tart added two each.  Tart finished with eight points off the bench.

The Bobcats held a slight 38-35 edge on the glass and forced 26 turnovers, leading directly to 39 points.  

Freshman Olivia McGlashin stuffed the stat sheet in her first start of the season, finishing with nine points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.  Senior Janae Brannon scored eight to go along with three rebounds, two steals and two dimes.

THE SERIES
This was the first meeting between the Bobcats and Golden Knights with B&SC Buffalo now holding a 1-0 lead in the all-time series.  They will meet again in two weeks, this time in Potsdam, NY.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats are back on the road for a matchup with the Point Park Pioneers on Tuesday, January 19th at 6 p.m.  It will be the fourth all-time meeting between the schools with the Bobcats holding a 2-1 advantage.  They won an earlier season matchup in Buffalo 92-83.
