Women's Basketball Announces 2020-21 Team Captains

BUFFALO, NY - The Bryant & Stratton Buffalo women's basketball program announced it's team captains on Thursday as Head Coach Brittnee Perry named senior Janae Brannon and juniors Armoni Jordan and Rachel Bruneel the team's captains for the 2020-21 season.

The Bobcats are coming off a 22-7 season where they earned the fifth seed in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament.  Brannon, along with fellow seniors Alissa Johnson and Shamecca Minor were honored as First Team All Americans.

Brannon, a 5-4 senior from Buffalo, nearly averaged a triple-double a season ago.  She finished the year averaging 10.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.2 assists.  She scored in double-figures in 12 games last year including a season-high 24 points in a road win at Berkeley College on December 8th.  She scored 16 in a National Tournament Quarterfinal win over Clinton College on March 12th.  She had eight games with double-digit rebounds and 11 games with double-digit assists.

Jordan enters her first season with the Bobcats.  A former All-American, Jordan is a 5-6 junior from Lockport who can do it all.  In her sophomore season at Villa Maria, Jordan averaged 14.3 points and 4.9 rebounds.  She shot nearly 46 percent from the floor while helping lead the Vikings to the National Championship Game.

Bruneel is a 5-7 junior from Parkland, FL who spent last season in Buffalo working her way back from injury.  She last played at the College of St. Joseph (VT) where she averaged 8.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.  She is a player who possesses all the intangibles and gives the Bobcats a lethal threat from behind the arc.  She had nine games at St. Joseph's during her senior season with at least two, three-point makes.

The Bobcats are 2-0 this season after wins over Point Park and Bryant & Stratton Rochester.  Perry has an overall record of 24-7 as the head coach of the Bobcats and looks to build on last season's success.
