BUFFALO, NY - Bryant & Stratton Buffalo junior guard Janae Brannon has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Basketball Division I National Player of the Week after two outstanding games in the Buffalo State Betty Abgott Invitational, culminating in a Bobcat championship. The Association announced the players of the week on Tuesday.
Brannon helped lead the Bobcats to a 65-60 win over the host Bengals on Friday afternoon. The Bobcats took down the NCAA foe by rallying in the fourth quarter from seven points down. Brannon finished the game with nine rebounds, nine assists, four points and three steals.
On Saturday in the championship game, the Bobcats once again had to rally late. She finished with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. She played all 40 minutes in both games.
Brannon has helped the Bobcats start their inaugural season 7-0 with wins over opponents from the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and USCAA. She is averaging 10.7 points, 8.7 assists, 8.5 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.
