PITTSBURGH, PA - Shamecca Minor hit eight threes and Danyea Barclay scored the game-winning basket as the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats escaped Pittsburgh with a thrilling 76-75 win over an established NAIA program in the Point Park Pioneers on Saturday evening. The win was the fifth in a row to open the season for the Bobcats who have defeated three NAIA and two USCAA I schools.
After two made free throws with six seconds left by Point Park's Michelle Burns, the Bobcats called timeout, trailing 75-74. After advancing the ball to the front court, they got the ball inside to Barclay on a beautiful over-the-top pass, and she was able to finish with 4.6 seconds left. The last second effort by the Pioneers was off the mark.
Minor had a game-high 25 points and Barclay added 16. Junior Alissa Johnson was also in double-figures with 12.
Stats and a full-detailed reacp will be made available on Sunday.
WHAT THEY SAID

"I'm just excited because we needed that," Minor said. "That was probably the best competition we've played yet this year. I think we came through. We trusted each other. We got the win and that's all that matters."
The Bobcats are back in action on Friday when they head to Buffalo State College to take part in the Betty Abgott Tournament. They'll play the host Bengals at 3 p.m. on Friday. Game times and matchups for Saturday are still to be determined.
