Bobcats Rout Five Towns Behind Benton's Big Day
BUFFALO, NY — Bryant & Stratton Buffalo delivered a dominant all-around performance Saturday afternoon, pulling away early and cruising to a 94–58 victory over Five Towns College at BuffSci on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats used balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and consistent pressure on both ends of the floor to control the contest from start to finish. Bryant & Stratton shot 42.9 percent from the field and outpaced Five Towns at the free-throw line, converting 19-of-24 attempts.
TaRon Benton led all scorers with a game-high 26 points, pairing his offensive efficiency with a complete stat line that included 10 rebounds and seven assists. Benton was perfect from the free-throw line, going 10-for-10, as Bryant & Stratton repeatedly attacked the paint and capitalized on second-chance opportunities.
Galen Waters provided an instant spark offensively, knocking down six three-pointers on 13 attempts and finishing with 18 points. Terrian Wester added a strong inside presence, recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Massai Graham contributed 12 boards, three steals, and two blocks to anchor the Bobcats defensively.
Bryant & Stratton held a decisive edge on the glass, outrebounding Five Towns 57–34, including 22 offensive rebounds that consistently extended possessions. The Bobcats also moved the ball effectively, finishing with 20 assists on 33 made field goals.
The opening minutes were physical and fast-paced, with both teams trading early baskets. TaRon Benton opened the scoring for Bryant & Stratton with a strong finish at the rim, and after Five Towns briefly answered, the Bobcats began to settle in defensively. Massai Graham and Terrian Wester helped stabilize the early pace with rebounds and defensive stops, while Benton and Wester combined to ignite the offense.
Midway through the first half, Bryant & Stratton started to create separation. Galen Waters knocked down his first three-pointer at the 16:22 mark off an assist from Wester, sparking an offensive rhythm that the Bobcats would maintain for the remainder of the half. Waters continued to stretch the floor, while Benton consistently attacked the paint and converted at the free-throw line.
The Bobcats used active hands and pressure defense to force multiple Five Towns turnovers, converting steals into easy transition points. A highlight moment came at the 11:26 mark when Graham threw down a dunk off a Phil Jones Jr. assist, pushing the lead to seven and energizing the BuffSci crowd.
Bryant & Stratton closed the half on a strong run behind efficient ball movement and second-chance opportunities. Wester capped the scoring before the break with a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds, and Benton added two late free throws as the Bobcats carried a 40–26 advantage into halftime.
Coming out of the break, Bryant & Stratton wasted no time extending the lead. Waters drilled back-to-back three-pointers in the opening minute of the second half, both assisted by Benton, pushing the margin past 20 and forcing Five Towns to play catch-up. From there, the Bobcats controlled the tempo, dominating the glass and repeatedly converting offensive rebounds into points.
Benton continued to orchestrate the offense, finding teammates and finishing through contact, while Wester and Arthur Dukes capitalized inside. The Bobcats strung together several extended scoring runs fueled by defensive rebounds, steals, and unselfish play, stretching the lead to 65–34 midway through the half.
With the outcome well in hand, Bryant & Stratton's depth shined late. JaVan Hill connected on a three-pointer, and Justin Reed-Fouche capped the scoring with a triple in the final minute, sealing the 94–58 victory.
Five Towns was led by Myles Gregory (16 points) and Tayron Bangs (15 points), but struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting just 34.3 percent from the field and 5.3 percent from beyond the arc.
With the win, Bryant & Stratton improved to 16-8 on the season and 8-4 in NACIA play. They will host Berkeley College on Sunday back at the Burt Flickinger Center when they try and complete the season sweep of the Knights and earn another conference win.
