Buffalo Drops NACIA Opener in Overtime Heartbreaker
BUFFALO, N.Y. — In a game filled with momentum swings, standout performances, and clutch shot-making on both sides, Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo fell in heartbreaking fashion, 99–90 in overtime, to Bloomfield on Sunday afternoon at the Burt Flickinger Center.
The Bobcats battled wire-to-wire, forcing overtime after a furious late push in regulation. But Bloomfield capitalized in the extra period, outscoring Buffalo and controlling the glass to escape with the narrow win.
The Bobcats delivered one of their strongest offensive performances of the season, shooting 45.9% from the field and nearly 48% from three, while placing five players in double figures.
Nahshon Sylvester powered the offense with 26 points, knocking down three triples and going a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. Terrian Wester was a force all afternoon, posting 23 points and 10 rebounds for a gritty double-double that kept the Bobcats in control for stretches of the game.
Junior standout Massai Graham continued his strong early-season play with 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Galen Waters provided a major lift off the bench, scoring 15 points and hitting three threes. Phil Jones Jr. set the table offensively with 8 assists, adding 3 steals as he guided the Bobcats' pace and ball movement.
Bryant & Stratton pushed the tempo, shared the ball effectively, and matched Bloomfield possession for possession through regulation. The Bobcats' defensive pressure forced 15 turnovers, and their late-game execution led to several key baskets that extended the contest into overtime.
In the extra period, Bloomfield capitalized on second-chance opportunities and free throws to create separation, edging out the Bobcats despite Buffalo's continued fight to the final whistle.
The effort showcased Buffalo's depth, unselfish play, and competitive edge as the team continues to build momentum early in the season.
Bryant & Stratton Buffalo returns to action next Sunday at the Burt Flickinger Center when they host Atlantis University.
