BUFFALO, NY – The Bryant & Stratton Buffalo men's basketball team will welcome two midseason transfers to the roster as Buffalo's Gerald Bibbs, and DJ Little of Matthews, North Carolina join the Bobcats, Head Coach Damone Brown announced on Friday.
Buffalo, which sits at 9-5 on the year, and are winners of three straight, will add depth to both its front and back courts with the addition of Little and Bibbs.
Little, a 6-2 guard, last played at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas where he averaged 10.6 points in 14 games. He started 10 of those games and scored a season-high 20 against Lone Star-Tomball. Little played his freshman ball at Palm Beach State College, averaging 15 points in 16 games. He also averaged three rebounds and just shy of three assists per game. In the final game of his freshman season, Little scored a career-high 33 points and went 8-16 from beyond the arc.
Bibbs is a 6-3 forward and a Buffalo native who is no stranger to Coach Brown or some of his teammates. In fact, he and Buffalo sophomore Eric Waters are best friends and were teammates in high school at Oracle Charter School and also for a year in college at Villa Maria when Brown as an assistant coach under the legendary Don Silveri.
Bibbs played a total of two seasons at Villa and in his sophomore year, helped lead the Vikings to a 25-4 record in Silveri's final year, while averaging 10.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. As a freshman, Bibbs averaged 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds. Both years he shot over 50 percent from the floor. As a freshman he shot 63.7 percent and as a sophomore, he shot 53.6 percent. From his freshman to sophomore season, he drastically improved his three point shooting as well, going from 28.6 percent as a freshman, to 41.3 percent as a sophomore, making more and one three per game on average.
Buffalo currently sits at 9-5 on the season. Winners of three straight games, they are ranked ninth in the latest United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Coaches Poll, which was last released on December 15, prior to the current three-game win streak.
Buffalo is set to return to action on Saturday, January 8 at 3 p.m. when they host Kent State Tuscarawas. The Bobcats' January 4 game against Bryant & Stratton Albany has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Albany program.
