Men's Basketball Announces 2020-21 Team Captains
BUFFALO, NY - The Bryant & Stratton Buffalo men's basketball team have it's team captains. Head Coach Damone Brown announced seniors Tyrell Mitchell and Shyquinn Dix as the teams captains along with co-captains Deric Jackson and Daryl Haynes. Brown made the announcement on Thursday evening.

Mitchell enters his third season with the Bobcats while the other three players begin their first seasons in Buffalo. The Bobcats are in their third season as a program and are coming off back-to-back trips to the USCAA National Tournament.
Mitchell, a two-time USCAA Second Team All-American, averaged 16.4 points last season on 61.9 percent shooting. He averaged over 19 during his sophomore season and has been instrumental in the program's success since it's inception. He also averaged 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists a season ago. In last Saturday's 81-78 season-opening win over Point Park, he scored 13 points.
Dix is a senior transfer who last played at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. The Stamford, CT native is the team's starting point guard and can light up the scoreboard. He averaged over 16 points per game last year at UMPI. He was the Owl's leading scorer and rebounder (6.5) while also shooting over 38 percent from three. Against Point Park he scored 12 points and dished out a team-best five assists.
Jackson is also a transfer, coming to Buffalo from New Hampshire Technical Institute. As a sophomore, Jackson averaged 15.7 points and 6.9 rebounds. He is a multiple-time winner of the USCAA Player of the Week award and is a USCAA All-America, helping lead the Lynx to a 25-win season. Against Point Park, Jackson provided a spark off the bench, scoring four points in four minutes. He also added a steal.
Haynes last played at Villa Maria where Coach Brown served as an assistant. Haynes is a vocal leader who's positive attitude and willingness to give his body up for the team, made him an obvious choice for captain. As a freshman, Haynes appeared in 12 games, scoring a season-high five points, twice.
